The Four Freshmen at Centenary Stage

    hackettstown — The Four Freshmen will appear at the Centenary Stage Company Jazz in July Series in Hackettstown on Saturday, July 23 at 8 p.m. in the David and Carol Lackland Center. The group features music and vocals from Curtis Calderon on vocal part two, trumpet, and fugel horn; Vince Johnson, baritone, joins on bass, guitar and trombone, Bob Ferreira on drums, and sings bass, and Brian Eichenberger on guitar takes the lead vocal. Trombonists joining the group that evening are Rob Stoneback, Conrad Herwig, Bill Smith, Joe McDonough, Barry McCommon, as well as Marty Mallinger on piano, Gene Perla on bass and Paul Wells on drums, in a rhythm section. This ensemble of musicians have played with everyone from Miles Davis to Chick Corea, Natalie Cole, Clark Terry, Manhattan Transfer, Phil Woods, Aretha Franklin and more.
