'The Girl From Tennessee' reading at Olde Village Bookseller
Lafayette The Tri-State Actors Theater takes its new plays reading series, “On the Town,” to the Olde Village Bookseller at Lafayette Village on Saturday, June 18 at 8 p.m. with a concert reading of a new play, “The Girl From Tennessee,” by Owen Dunne. The play ,a mystery/drama, is set in Dublin. Vinnie Higgins returns there after a 20 year sojourn in America. Within hours of returning he pays a visit to his childhood friend Jack Quigley and his wife Cynthia. A big night on the town follows where Vinnie and Jack reminisce about their cowboy heroes of the Old West and lament the loss of their youth. The following morning an unexpected guest, Lonnie, shows up at the Quigley household and Vinnie goes missing. The reading will be directed by Tri-State’s Artistic Director Paul Meacham. The Stage Reading will be performed by professional actors Brian Milli as Jack Quigley; Doug Taurel as Vinnie Higgins; Jaqueline Holloway as Lonnie Taylor; Patricia Durante as Cynthia Quigley; and Paul Meacham as Detective Casey; A reception and talk-back with the director and actors will follow the reading.
