The great outdoors coming to college theatre

    SUSSEX COUNTY-Famed photographer, writer, and naturalist Dr. Leonard Lee Rue III will present two programs at Sussex County Community College on Thursday, Dec. 9. At 10:50 a.m., Rue will present "New Jersey Out of Doors." This program will discuss what wildlife has been found in the state, what currently is found here and what will not be here in the future and why. At 7 p.m. he will present "North to Alaska." Rue visited and photographed the state's western coast. This program features Eskimos, walrus, seals, shorebirds, and the spectacular scenery of that region. Rue is the most published wildlife photographer in North America. In 58 years he has sold to over 2,000 different companies and publications in 44 countries. He has to his credit over 1,800 national covers. He is the author of 28 books on wildlife, including How I Photograph Wildlife and Nature, The Deer of North America, Way of the Whitetail, The Deer Hunter's Illustrated Dictionary and Beavers. He has columns in Deer and Deer Hunting Magazine & Outdoor Photographer Magazine, as well as a monthly on-line photography column at vividlight.com. Each year Rue conducts lectures and seminars around the country on white-tailed deer, turkey and nature photography. Both programs will be held in the SCCC Theater.
