Township offering Tai Chi for seniors

    West Milford — West Milford Community Services and Recreation will begin the fall session of Tai Chi on September 9 and continue every Friday through November 18. The class is held in the Hillcrest Community Center’s gymnasium from 10 to 11 a.m. The cost for the eight-week class is $25. Tai Chi is a Chinese exercise system that uses slow, smooth body movements to achieve a state of relaxation of both body and mind. It has existed for 2,000 years and practiced regularly can help you reduce stress and enjoy other health benefits. Tai Chi is used to: Increase flexibility Improve muscle strength Improve balance Increase energy Increase a feeling of wellbeing Anyone, regardless of age or physical ability, can practice Tai Chi.
