Two young pianists to play Carnegie Hall

— Two students of Sparta piano teacher Joan Farrington will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York City on May 5.
Both Maika Batchelor, 14, and Tyler Harms, 10, took 2nd place honors in the Little Mozarts International Music Competitions on March 18.
Batchelor performed Etude in A flat Major, Opus 72 ,#11 by Moritz Moszkowski. The judge, Prof. Lidia Boguslavsky, DMA said, “good memorization and solid confident playing.”
Harmsperformed Allegretto in E Minor Opus 38 #24 by Johann Hassler. The judge, Irina Morozova, MA, said, “Good tempo and rhythm.”
Mrs. Farrington has taught piano for 42 years in Sparta and is a current member of Music Teachers National Association and Music Teachers of New Jersey Association.
