The Sparta Historical Society presents “Discover the ART in SpARTa” from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 23 at the Van Kirk Homestead Museum.

The spring exhibit draws specifically from Sparta’s talented resident artists. The guest artists submitted a wide range of works, using a variety of techniques, materials and dimensions.

Admission is free, and there will be a talk at 2 p.m.

Our exhibit will be on view from 1 to 4 p.m. on the second and fourth Sundays through July 23.

Since the museum opened in September 2014, the Van Kirk Homestead has assembled a diverse selection of artifacts, local as well as distant including some that have never been displayed before.

In addition, the first floor will be open with updated permanent exhibits, including the “Edison Revisited” gallery.

The Sparta Historical Society is located at the Van Kirk Homestead Museum, 336 Main St. (Route 517, use middle school driveway), Sparta.
