Vernon Musicians attain state honors

    VERNON-Lauren Ritter and Jonathan MacMillan, violinists and members of the Vernon Township High School Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and String Quartet, recently performed with the North Jersey Region I Orchestra. They will audition for the New Jersey All-State Orchestra this month as well as perform at the Sussex County Teen Arts Festival. In addition to the school organizations, they are members of the Northern New Jersey Youth Symphony. Another Vernon musician, cellist Molly Siegrist, recently attended the Strings Honor Day at the College of New Jersey. Outstanding string students were chosen by their directors to participate with students from all over the state of New Jersey, spending the day in workshops, master classes and rehearsals, all culminating in an evening concert. Molly, a member of the VTHS Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra, String Quartet and Pit Orchestra, is also a member of the Northern New Jersey Youth Symphony.
