Newton-A critically acclaimed artist, Tichman was raised on Long Island, the daughter of a mother who was a classical pianist, and a father who played for Broadway shows. Both her sisters are also musicians. Not unlike the Family von Trapp, the clan has performed concerts together. Called "one of the leading pianists of her generation" Tichman has performed the complete piano works of Claude Debussy in three evenings in both Frankfurt and New York City. Her recording of this repertoire has been called "possibly - because of her exquisite touch - the most beautiful recording of the complete works". Several of the works of Debussy will be played at the concert. Winner of prestigious international competitions, Tichman has appeared as soloist with orchestras and in recital in the major music centers of the world. She has been the subject of radio and television specials in Europe, Asia, the Near East and North America. Her diverse activities as recitalist, chamber musician and pedagogue have led to invitations to perform and teach in festivals such as Marlboro, Tanglewood, Music from Salem, International Musicians Seminar at Prussia Cove, Frankfurt Feste, Rheingau Musikfestival, Beethoven Festival Bonn and many others, often featuring premieres of works dedicated to her. A graduate of The Julliard School, Tichman was awarded the Eduard-Steuermann-Prize for outstanding musical achievement. In 1993 she was appointed Professor of Piano at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne. In 1999 she led master classes at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Seelscheider Sommerakademie. This year, she was invited to perform at Schloss Bellevue for the President of Germany, an honor comparable to playing at the White House. Recent seasons have included tours To hear some Nina's playing,
