SHS cheer gears up for season
SPARTA. This year's cheerleading season was kicked off at camp in August. Competition season starts in October.
The cheer season kicked off in August at Pine Forest cheer camp for Sparta High School cheerleaders. The team ended up taking home three trophies from the end of camp competition; First Place: Sideline Cheer, First Place: Rally Routine, Second Place: Overall Game Day.
The SHS cheer teams are led by Coaches Kandace Pollison & Amanda Quinn.
There are four Varsity Captains - Isabella Perry, Cameron Leary, Kate McGovern & Evalyn Fitzsimmons, and two Junior Varsity Captains: Tristen Pallito & Taylor Kelly.
The girls are excited to cheer at home and away football games. The cheer team is particularly excited to be on the new turf Cassels Field, Friday nights under the lights.
