Blues calling from several stages

Music enthusiasts are in for a treat with a lineup of exciting live performances across Sussex County.

Friday, Jan. 12

Guitarist and singer-songwriter Brian St. John will kick off the weekend at 6 p.m. at McQ’s Pub at Lake Lenape, 165 Andover Sparta Road, Newton. His melodic tunes are sure to create the perfect ambiance for an evening of musical delight.

Ray DeLear takes center stage at 6:30 p.m. at Krogh’s Restaurant & Brew Pub, 23 White Deer Plaza, Sparta. With more than two decades of experience, he performs in every genre, including popular songs, folk, traditional Irish and originals.

Bell’s Mansion, 11 Main St., Stanhope, will host James Vilade at 7 p.m. for an evening filled with enchanting melodies and soulful renditions.

Saturday, Jan. 13

Blue Arrow Farm, 86 Glenwood Road, Pine Island, N.Y., invites music lovers to experience the blues with Junior Mack, “a New York blues legend,” at 7 p.m. Tickets are available for $10 online at bluearrowfarm.com

The FrostKings, an R&B, swing and blues band from North Jersey, will play at 7 p.m. at Milk Street Distillery, 1 Milk St., Branchville. Known for their versatility, the band’s repertoire ranges from West Coast swing to classic blues.

Midnight Monarch, with special guests Revel at Dusk, Hounds of Blues and Star Crossed, will perform at 7 p.m. at the Stanhope House, 45 Main St. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.

The Newton Theatre, 234 Spring St., welcomes guitarist Marcus Rezak at 8 p.m. Renowned for his collaborations with musical giants, he will play with musicians from the Trey Anastasio Band, Twiddle and Frank Zappa’s Joe’s Garage in Newton. Tickets start at $29.50 and may be purchased online at skypac.org

Chris Perrelli will deliver acoustic and classic rock selections starting at 9 p.m. at O’Reilly’s Pub and Grill, 271 Spring St., Newton.

Wednesday, Jan. 17

Sean Henry will play acoustic tunes at McQ’s Pub at Lake Lenape at 5 p.m.

Also at 5 p.m. at Blue Arrow Farm, Danny C’s Wednesday Winter Concert Series presents Some Guys & A Broad for an electrifying performance in the barn.

Thursday, Jan. 18

Stop by Homestead Rest, 294 N. Church Road, Sparta, for an open mic night starting at 6 p.m. Sign-ups begin at 5:30 p.m.

JP of PS Xpermient hosts “Anything Goes Night” at 7:30 p.m. at Brick & Brew, 27 Route 23, Franklin. Featuring open mic, karaoke and solo acoustic performances, enjoy this opportunity to unwind and revel in the diverse talents of the local music scene.
