Sparta woman faces DWI charge after rollover accident

Jennifer Sheridan, 45, of Sparta faces driving while intoxicated and other charges after Byram Township police responded to a rollover motor vehicle accident on Roseville Road about 10:30 p.m. Jan. 20.

When an officer spoke to Sheridan, he believed that she may have been intoxicated, police said.

She was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which she failed. She was arrested and a subsequent search found that she was in possession of Xanax and drug paraphernalia.

Sheridan was taken to police headquarters, where she also was charged with possession of Xanax, possession of a prescription legend drug with four or fewer dosage units, possession of drug paraphernalia, unsealed cannabis in a motor vehicle, failure to maintain lane, careless driving, reckless driving and unregistered vehicle.

She was released to a friend pending an appearance in Andover-Joint Municipal Court.
