    Justin Gannon of Sussex graduated with a bachelor’s degree in rhetoric and communication from the State University of New York at Albany. Laura Backman of Stockholm, a student at Saint Michael’s College in Colchester, Vt., presented a paper titled “Making an Offer: The Life of the Deal or No Deal Banker” at the 18th annual Hudson River Undergraduate Mathematics Conference held April 16 at Skidmore College in Saratoga, N.Y. Amanda Toker of Lafayette was named to the president’s list at LIM College in New York for the fall 2010 semester. Joshua. S Hazen of Vernon received his doctorate in physical therapy from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa. Kristine Lusardi of Hamburg and Sarah Foster of Sparta were named to the dean’s list for the fall 2010 semester at LIM College in New York. Amy Gretina of Vernon has been inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society at Berkeley College. Gretina is pursuing a degree through Berkeley College Online. MaryKatherine E. Mitchell of Sussex, a senior religion and psychology major at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa., received the Robert S. Davidon Award for Research in Psychology at the college’s annual Spring Awards Banquet on April 28. The banquet is part of the Celebration of Student Learning, a showcase of the scholarly, scientific, and creative accomplishments of Lebanon Valley College students. The following area students have been named to the president’s and dean’s lists at Berkeley College for the Winter 2011 Quarter. Rebecca Renee Fountaine of Wantage received a bachelor’s degree from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania. Michelle Sonnema of Vernon received a doctor of veterinary medicine degree (DVM) during convocation and hooding exercises at Oklahoma State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Stillwater, Okla. Katie Baldwin of Wantage, a junior majoring in psychology and seeking education certification at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa., was inducted into IRUSKA Honor Society for outstanding contribution to campus life in one or more student activities. Janna M. Herbert of Hamburg, a senior digital communications major, was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges at the annual spring awards banquet at Lebanon Valley College in Annville, Pa. Rachel A. Mitchener of Franklin has recently become recognized as a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda, National Leadership and Honors Organization at the George Washington University. This is a leadership and honors organization dedicated to promoting and rewarding academic achievement and providing members with opportunities for community service, personal development and lifelong professional fulfillment. She is a completing her freshman year at George Washington majoring in both English and creative writing. Eric Tyler Stickle of Wantage graduated from Millersville University of Pennsylvania, during the spring 2011 undergraduate commencement ceremony with a bachelor’s degree in industry and technology. Jamie Pawlick of Oak Ridge, a junior English major, and Cassandra Mainiero of Sparta, a sophomore English major was recently featured in the 2011 publication of Lycoming College’s “Tributary,” with their poetry work, “If Red and Ripe.” The Williamsport, Pa. publication features student writing and photography and gives creative writing majors the experience of performing hands-on editorial work. Matthew N. Sheeran of Vernon made the Dean’s List at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania.
