Cocy Dericks and Nicole Yorlano of Sparta were named to the spring 2011 dean’s list at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. Nicole Raffino of Sparta was named to the spring 2011 dean’s list in the Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences, College of Medicine at the University of Central Florida. Nicole Wilson of Sparta was named to the spring 2011 dean’s list at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She is a member of the class of 2012 and is majoring in fashion merchandising. Laura Pugh of Oak Ridge and Eric Pauls of Lafayette were named to the spring 2011 dean’s list at the College of Engineering at Villanova University. Elias Vandenakker of Stockholm has earned a bachelor’s degree in communication media from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Courtney Theese, daughter of John and Maureen Theese of Sussex, was named 2010-2011 Outstanding Undergraduate Scholar at Rochester Institute of Technology. Emily Farrell of Sparta was named to the spring 2011 dean’s list in the Psychology Dept. of the State University of New York at Plattsburgh. The following local residents have graduated from The College of New Jersey: Erin Fitzpatrick of Oak Ridge, with a bachelor’s degree in health and exercise science; Kyle Gilroy of Oak Ridge, with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical physics, magna cum laude; Lauren Bieber of Lafayette, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing, cum laude; Shane Flaherty of Lafayette, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing; Jeffrey Deutsch of Lafayette, with a bachelor’s degree in economics; Mark Whitty of Stockholm, with a bachelor’s degree in computer science; Nicole Pieri of McAfee, with a bachelor’s degree in English; Elyse Hitscherich of Sussex, with a bachelor’s degree in management; Kathryn Brenzel of Wantage, with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and professional writing, magna cum laude; and Lauren Tracy of Wantage, with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood. Marisa J. Bacchetta, a graduate of Sparta High School, will attend the State University of New York at Oswego. Kristi Mendes, formerly of Sparta, has graduated from the University of New Haven with an associate’s degree in dental hygiene. She passed the National Board Exam and is a Registered and Licensed Dental Hygienist. She is the daughter of Rich and Kathy Mendes of Pompton Lakes.
