Dance Expression troupe brings home multiple golds

    SUSSEX COUNTY-The Dance Expression Dance Company of Hamburg brought home multiple honors in the Starboun" Regional Dance Competition on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005 in Paramus. Caitlin Potosnak of Vernon and Skye Patete of Stockholm were awarded "High Gold" awards for their lyrical duet "I Will Be Your Friend" and their open duet, "Candy Coated Valentine". The dancers also received special acknowledgement with awards for Most Creative Choreography and "Great Connection." A high gold and the third Highest score for a soloist age 13 and over was presented to Caitlin Potosnak of Vernon for her jazz solo "Feeling Good". Also winning high golds were also Skye Patete of Stockholm for her lyrical solo "Reprise," Tina Forder of Branchville for her Modern Solo "Color Blind," and Ashley Whelan of Stockholm for her jazz solo, "He's a Dream." Gold awards were given to Gina Forder of Branchville for her open solo, "Fixing a Whole," along with a Best Choregoraphy Award presented to the choreographer Ellen McGovern. gold awards also went to Gabrielle Carpenter of Branchville for her Tap solo "This Can't Be," and Colette DeGrezia and Nicole DeGrezia of Vernon and Ashley Whelan for their Jazz trio "Hanky Panky" and to Ashley Whelan for her open solo "Stop, Don't, Please." Anna Porter of Branchville and Leigh Ann Lorenzetti of Hamburg received a gold award and the second highest score in the 11- 12-year-old age category for their Jazz duet "Be Wild." A high gold was presented to "Go to Rio," large group senior jazz line, and gold awards were given to "Dancing thru OZ," The Dance Expression production number, "Do Si Do" Junior 7- 8-year-old small group jazz, "Cell Block Tango," Senior musical theatre large group, "Dead Man's Rope" large group senior modern and "Talkin' About Greed," senior small group modern. Senior small group jazz, "LeJazz Hot," performed by Megan Murdock, Kaleigh Hayes, Brielle Crowe, Leanna Grennan and Brittany Pakestein was awarded for "The Most Potential."
