Dancers earn high marks

A few members of Ziegler Dance Centre’s Z Dance Troupe recently attended Headliners Dance Competitions in Clifton. Their solos, duets and trios earned them many high awards from the judges. Tara Kolakoski, Samantha Weiner and Brittany Piela received special recognition from the judges for their talent and stage presence. Fifth overall senior duet/trio was awarded to “I Like to Look” a musical theatre performed by Leia Campbell, Brittany Crispino and Samantha Weiner. Fourth overall senior duet/trio was awarded to “Higher Ground,” a jazz dance performed by Leia Campbell and Kaitlin Rago. Leia Campbell and Samantha Weiner were both nominated to represent the United States National Dance Team with their solos in musical theatre. They will go to Norfolk, Va., in July to try and lock their spot to go to Germany to compete in the World Show Dance and Hip Hop Championships sponsored by the International Dance Organization.
