Local residents come together to kick off the 30th Annual Sussex County Distinguished Citizen Award dinner in honor of Bill Curcio Andover — Residents from throughout Sussex County came together for the annual Sussex County Distinguished Citizen Award dinner kick-off celebration at Perona Farms. The celebration brings together the awards committee that will work over the next five months to properly recognize and reward the contributions of Bill Curcio for all that he has done for the Boy Scouts of America and the people of Sussex County. Bill will receive the Sussex County Distinguished Citizen Award on Wednesday, October 19, at Perona Farms in Andover. A few months ago, under the direction of Scout Executive Dennis Kohl, the committee of past honorees met and reviewed the possible slate of award candidates for what will be the 30th anniversary of what many believe is Sussex County’s most prestigious award for individual accomplishment and contributions to the community. There was a unanimous vote to select Bill Curcio as the 2011 recipient of the award. The 37 member committee is co-chaired by Robert B. Nicholson III of the Eastern Propane Corporation and Christopher Lynch of Nisivoccia, LLP.
