First place skier

Sparta resident Sarah Escobar, age nine, recently earned a first place ranking from the New Jersey Ski Racing Association in her age group. She is a competitive skier and raced at Mountain Creek, Mount Peter and Camp Gaw. Sarah qualified for the state team to represent New Jersey at Gunstock, N.H. this past March. During the association’s May 7 annual awards banquet held at Mount Peter, Sarah received her J6 state team first place award.
