High Point technical students qualify for national competition in Texas
Sussex - A record 55 High Point Regional High School students participated in the annual state conference of the Technical Students Association at The College of New Jersey on April 4. Thirty-three of the High Point TSA members placed first, second or third in one of their events, qualifying them to attend the association’s national conference in June in Dallas. The Technology Student Association is a national organization committed to enhancing the awareness and inclusion of technological literacy in schools and communities. Over the last four years, High Point’s chapter has quadrupled in size, and is now regarded as one of the largest and most successful chapters in the state. The chapter’s faculty advisor is technology teacher Brian Drelick. Projects completed by the High Point students range from an electromagnetic clutch, to a radio-controlled robot, a new hydroponics system, a 3-D animation of a night club, an iPod especially formatted for winter sports, and a new type of immigration control.
