Edna​ ​A.​ ​Pietrucha,​ ​89,​ ​of​ ​Sparta,​ ​NJ​ ​passed​ ​away​ ​on​ ​October​ ​25,​ ​2017. Edna​ ​was​ ​born​ ​in​ ​Eynon,​ ​PA​ ​and​ ​moved​ ​to​ ​Kearny,​ ​NJ​ ​in​ ​1941.​ ​She graduated​ from​ ​Kearny​ ​High​ ​School​ ​in​ ​1946​ ​then​ ​worked​ ​as​ ​a​ ​secretary in​ ​a​ ​law​ ​office​ ​until​ ​her​ ​marriage​ ​to​ ​Joseph​ ​A.​ ​Pietrucha​ ​in​ ​1951.​ ​The family​ ​moved​ ​to​ ​Sparta​ ​in​ ​1960​ ​where​ ​Edna​ ​became​ ​an​ ​active parishioner​ ​of​ ​Our​ ​Lady​ ​of​ ​the​ ​Lake​ ​Church.​ ​Edna​ ​was​ ​an​ ​avid​ ​reader and​ ​in​ ​earlier​ ​years​ ​enjoyed​ ​attending​ ​Polka​ ​dances​ ​and​ ​retreats​ ​with​ ​her husband.​ ​She​ ​was​ ​an​ ​enthusiastic​ ​follower​ ​of​ ​the​ ​Duke​ ​Blue​ ​Devils basketball​ ​team​ ​and​ ​Coach​ ​Krzyzewski​ ​but​ ​loved​ ​being​ ​with​ ​her​ ​family most​ ​of​ ​all.
Edna​ ​is​ ​predeceased​ ​by​ ​her​ ​beloved​ ​husband​ ​Joseph​ ​A.​ ​Pietrucha.​ ​She​ ​is survived​ ​by​ ​her​ ​children:​ ​Joan​ ​Cabiness​ ​and​ ​her​ ​husband​ ​Howard​ ​of Ellicott​ ​City,​ ​MD;​ ​Dr​ ​Lawrence​ ​Pietrucha​ ​and​ ​his​ ​wife​ ​Audrey​ ​of Bennington,​ ​VT;​ ​Mary​ ​Ann​ ​Aslinger​ ​and​ ​her​ ​husband​ ​Jerry​ ​of Montclair,​ ​VA;​ ​and​ ​Stephen​ ​Pietrucha​ ​of​ ​Sparta.​ ​She​ ​was​ ​the​ ​loving grandmother​ ​of​ ​Jeffrey,​ ​Ann,​ ​Daniel,​ ​Emily,​ ​Elizabeth,​ ​Andrew,​ ​John and​ ​Matthew​ ​and​ ​great-grandmother​ ​of​ ​William,​ ​Abigail,​ ​Katherine​ ​and Sophie.
Friends​ ​may​ ​call​ ​Wednesday,​ ​November​ ​1,​ ​2017,​ ​from​ ​2-4​ ​p.m.​ ​and​ ​7-9 p.m.​ ​at​ ​the​ ​Goble​ ​Funeral​ ​Home,​ ​22​ ​Main​ ​St,​ ​Sparta,​ ​NJ​ ​07871.​ ​​ ​A funeral​ ​mass​ ​will​ ​be​ ​held​ ​at​ ​10​ ​a.m.​ ​Thursday,​ ​November​ ​2​ ​at​ ​Our​ ​Lady of​ ​the​ ​Lake​ ​Church,​ ​294​ ​Sparta​ ​Ave,​ ​Sparta,​ ​NJ​ ​07871.​ ​​ ​Interment​ ​will follow​ ​at​ ​Good​ ​Shepherd​ ​Cemetery,​ ​Green​ ​Township,​ ​New​ ​Jersey.​ ​​ ​In lieu​ ​of​ ​flowers​ ​contributions​ ​may​ ​be​ ​made​ ​in​ ​her​ ​memory​ ​to:​ ​Karen​ ​Ann Quinlan​ ​Home​ ​For​ ​Hospice,​ ​99​ ​Sparta​ ​Ave,​ ​Newton,​ ​NJ​ ​07860.
