Henry Tino Jr. of Augusta, N.J., went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, April 30, 2021. He was 76.

Henry was born on Oct. 9, 1944, to Henry Tino Sr. and Frances Geraci Tino in Newark, N.J. He graduated from West Essex High School in 1962 and then went on to get his degree in cosmetology at the American Academy of Health and Beauty. Henry served proudly in the Army National Guard for six years.

Henry had a number of careers, including owning his own beauty salon, being a golf-pro/instructor, and teacher/leader in the field of addiction and recovery. He created and ran the In Him Recovery Program at Christian Faith Fellowship Church for 10 years. He had a huge heart for those struggling with addictions and mental health issues and dedicated his life to help those in need. Whether he was working the food pantry supporting rehab placements or sponsoring someone from home, he not only touched the lives of so many, he has changed their lives forever.

Henry was immersed in the Christian community. He was a dedicated member of the United Chaplain International Worldwide Outreach and of Christian Faith Fellowship Church. Henry had a strong belief and faith in Jesus Christ our Lord God and would share the good news of the gospel wherever he went whether near or far. He made a number of mission trips to Africa, where he initiated and completed the building of a church and installing a clean drinking water well for those in Zimbabwe and the surrounding areas.

Henry enjoyed fishing, bowling, kayaking, chopping wood, working in the yard, rescuing dogs, and spending quiet time at home with his wife and family.

Henry found his soulmate, Patricia, and they were married in 1986. They just celebrated their 35th anniversary this April. They had the privilege of raising Daniel together. Henry will be dearly missed by so many who knew him, especially his wife, son, and grandchildren. Their lives will never be the same.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Tino of Augusta; son, Daniel Tino of Sparta, N.J.; grandchildren, Isabella and Austin Tino of Warwick, N.Y.; sister, Janet George of Lake Hopatcong, N.J.; and brother, Richard Tino of Murrells Inlet, S.C.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 7, at Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville, N.J. Military honors will be rendered at 6:45 p.m., followed by a memorial service.
