Jane K. Begraft of the Swartswood section of Stillwater Township, N.J., died on Sunday, July 4, 2021, at Morristown Medical Center. She was 75.
Jane was born Oct. 29, 1945, in Tzummarum, Friesland, Netherlands, to the late Peter and Helen Koopmans. She came to the United States in 1948 and lived her life in Sussex County, primarily Stillwater Township, for 54 years. Jane was a 1964 graduate of Newton High School.
She worked for Warner Lambert from 1966 to 1970, Sussex Co. Ed. Services for three years, Doboy-Sig Packaging for nine years, and finally at DASI for 13 years until her retirement in 2004.
Jane was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Newton and was involved with their food pantry. She was also a former member of the Sparta Women’s Club.
Jane is survived by her beloved husband, Dennis L. Begraft; sons, Scott and Matthew Begraft; grandchildren, Katlynn, Jared, Ariana and Jordan; and sister, Betty.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, at the Smith-McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St, Newton, N.J. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21, at the First Baptist Church, 110 Main St., Newton, fllowed by burial in Tranquility Cemetery, Green Township, NJ.
