Kenneth Paul Banas

Kenneth Paul Banas, 72, of Sparta, NJ passed away on February 16, 2018. Kenneth was born in Chicago, IL and spent his summers at Bass Lake in Indiana, where he met his wife. He was a 1968 graduate of Valparaiso University with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. He began his career at G&W Electric in Chicago, then joining Joslyn Power Products where he became President of the Power Products division; after that coming to Elastimold in Hackettstown, NJ where he was Vice President. Kenneth finished his distinguished career at Thomas and Betts in Memphis, TN. He was a member of the Lake Mohawk Country Club and the IEEE. His hobbies and interests included woodworking, designing, race cars, boats, and travelling but above all else his family came first. Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife Gail Hawley Banas; devoted father of Jeffrey Kenneth Banas and his wife Nicole of Maplewood, NJ and Kimberly Jurevich and her husband Alex of Sparta, NJ and loving grandfather of Jackson, Finley, Maya Jing and Christopher Kenneth. Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 2 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral service will be held at 11am Wednesday at the Sparta Presbyterian Church, 32 Main St, Sparta, NJ. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
