Lois E. Storms of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Greenville, N.Y., a retired supervisor for Morley Shirt Co. in Franklin, N.J., died Friday, Dec. 18, 2020, at home in Myrtle Beach. She was 84.
Daughter of the late Edwin Sisco and the late Ethel Vance Sisco, she was born Feb. 27, 1936, in Mcafée, N.J.
Lois was happily married to Gilbert Storms for 32 years prior to his passing on March 2, 2006.
She was a member of the Carolina Forest Senior Center and Celebration Presbyterian Church, of Carolina Forest, S.C., and the Middletown Elks Lodge #1097. Prior to moving to South Carolina, Lois was a member of the Greenville United Methodist Church and the Greenville Seniors for many years.
A family statement read: “Lois was such a kindhearted, giving person. When she was not working on a puzzle, you could find her enjoying a nice book, or walking the beach looking for seashells. Lois also loved to head to the casino. What she loved most, though, was her family and friends.”
She is survived by her daughters, Diane Storms of Greenville Township and Donna O’Brien and her husband, Daniel, of Greenville Township; grandchildren, Meghan O’Brien-Loran and her husband, Roger, of Ravena, N.Y., and Michael Odynsky and his wife, Kristin, of Dingman’s Ferry, Pa.; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Judith Phillips of Franklin, N.j., one special niece, Carol Blackman and her husband, William, of Conway, S.C.; grandniece, Heather Taylor and her husband, Steve, of Montague, N.J.; grandnephew, Tony Gray of the State of Florida; and extended family, Tim Durland and his wife, Donna, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; sister-in-law and best friend, Millie Sisco of Hamburg, N.J.; and several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Floyd Durland; five brothers, Edwin, George, Richard, Ernest and Allen Sisco; and her grandson Denton Odynsky.
Visitation was held at Gray-Parker Funeral Home in Port Jervis, N.Y., on Dec. 23. Funeral services followed at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Zorn officiating. A private burial was held at Manning Cemetery, Greenville, N.Y.
