    — Raymond K. O’Leary went home to the Lord on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Newton, NJ. He was surrounded by his loving wife Jean and family. Raymond was born in Goshen, NY, to Thomas Joseph O’Leary Sr. and Delia (Welch) O’Leary. He has resided in Sparta for the past 56 years, living previously in No. Arlington, NJ. and Goshen, NY. Raymond served his country proudly in the US Army during the Korean War. Raymond was employed for 36 years as a Mechanical Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ. He was a member of the American Legion and he served on the Sparta Little League as an officer and coach, which was one of his passions. Raymond also coached CYO basketball during his children’s formative years. He was also involved in organizing and operating the Pope John High School auction for many years. Surviving Raymond is his loving wife of 60 years, Jean (Imhof) O’Leary. His cherished five sons; Kevin and his wife Kathleen of Lafayette. Sean of Manassas,Virginia, Brian and his wife Donna of Newton, Terance and his wife Jeannine of Port St. Lucie, FL., and Brendan and his wife Elene of Sparta. His two cherished daughters; Maureen Brown and her husband David of Solon, OH, and Maura Elkhatib and her husband Aiman of Fairfax Station, VA. Twenty-two grandchildren; Corrine and Cara Brown, Caitlin, Erinn, Meghan and Connor O’Leary, Adam, Sarah, and Aiden Elkhatib, Colleen, Kelly, Camille, Cameron, Ryan, Kyle, Jarrett, Justin, Julia, Nicholas, Patrick, Olivia, and Daniel O’Leary. Family and friends are invited 2~4 6~8 PM Wednesday to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street, Sparta, NJ 07871. A 10 am Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at Our Lady of the Lake Church 294 Newton Sparta Rd, Sparta, followed by interment in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Green Township, NJ.
