Robert Dean Eckes

Robert Dean Eckes, 77, of Sparta, NJ passed away at Newton Medical Center on December 22, 2017. Bob was born and grew up in Oconto, WI and was a resident of Sparta since 1967. He worked on the manned space program in Houston, TX as a main frame operator before moving to New Jersey to work for the Western Union Company. He worked as a salesman for the UNISYS Corporation for many years. Bob loved hunting, fishing, John Deere tractors, and the Green Bay Packers but loved being with his family the most. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jeanie Stellmacher Eckes; devoted father of Craig Eckes and his wife Cynthia of New York City and Patricia Lawson and her husband Ronald of Indian Harbor Beach Florida. Bob is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Madison and Cole Lawson and Brett Eckes; his sisters Kathy and Pat and brother Bill and his loving dog Molly. Bob was predeceased by his brother John and sister Margaret. Friends may call Friday, December 29, 2017 from 2-4, 7-9 pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 10 am at Our Lady of the Lake Church, 297 Sparta Ave, Sparta, NJ 07871.
