Former Lake Mohawk Club member Robert (Bob) Urlwin died peacefully at home in Wilmington, Delaware on Oct. 13, 2012. He was 74 years old.

Bob was born on October 29, 1937 in Concord, NH. He attended Severn School in Severna Park, Maryland graduating in 1955.

He then attended the University of Maryland and the University of New Hampshire, graduating from the latter in 1961 with a history degree. While in college, Bob wrestled and played lacrosse and was chosen as an All-American athlete.

After finishing college, Bob went to work for Telescope Casual Furniture as a sales representative. He began his career working with his father, George, in New England. When he assumed the New Jersey, Delaware, eastern Pennsylvania territory, he moved to Sparta where he lived for over 30 years. In addition to his position as a sales rep, Bob also served as Sales Manager from 1987 to 2002, commuting weekly to Granville, NY.

Bob was a private pilot and loved to fly his Mooney airplane to New York instead of driving.

He retired from Telescope in 2007 after 47 years with the company. His son-in-law, Phil, took over the territory. When Phil was sent to Iraq with the Naval Reserve, Bob returned to the job and worked for one more year, retiring again in 2011.

While in Sparta, Bob enjoyed tennis, coaching, boating, and poker nights with friends. He was a member of the Lake Mohawk Tennis Club where he also served as President. He was also a charter member of the Lakeside Tennis Club.

Bob coached both wrestling and baseball. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club. A skilled craftsman, Bob enjoyed a variety of projects over the course of his life, including designing and helping to construct his house in Sparta.

Bob (also known as Robert/Dad/Rabs/Grampy/Bulldog) is survived by his wife, Carol, sister Dot, son Jeff, daughters Lynn, Kristen, and Lynne, twelve grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

He is pre-deceased by his brothers, Bill and George.
