Vatter, 52, of Sparta

John W. Vatter, 52, of Sparta, died at home on August 3, 2014, after a year-long battle with cancer, with his family by his side.

He was born to John and Marie Vatter on July 21, 1962 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is survived by his beloved wife Irene Vatter, son Taylor, daughters Alexa and Victoria, sister Cheryl, and parents John Vatter and Marie DeCarlo.

Vatter graduated from Farmingdale High School in 1980 and received a Bachelor’s Degree in finance from Iona College in 1984.

He held various banking and financial positions throughout his career, most recently with JP Morgan Chase in Manhattan, New York.

Vatter was an avid golfer, accomplished softball player, and beloved Sparta girls’ softball coach, mentor, and board member.

His strength, loyalty, and humor will inspire friends and family forever.
