William R. Ashley

William R. Ashley, 68, of Sparta, NJ passed away on February 18, 2018. Bill was born in Paterson, NJ, received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from Spring Garden College in Philadelphia, PA and worked at Belco Pollution Control in Parsippany, NJ and most recently at Hamon Research-Cottrell, Inc in Somerville, NJ. He was a talented woodworker and farmer but loved restoring hot rods. Bill was an active member of the Sparta Historical Society and the Wanderers Car Club, formerly the Drifters. He is survived by his beloved wife Audrey (Frishman) Ashley; devoted sister Marianne Ashley Sharpe; nephews, Harison Ashley Sharpe and Robert Ashley Sharpe; cousin Kenneth Anderson; nieces, Simone Mizell and her husband Josh, and Jordon Ashleigh Chaffiotte. William was predeceased by his brother Paul Steven Ashley. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018 from 10 am to 12 noon at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon at the funeral home followed by interment at the Sparta Cemetery.
