Franklin — It was a day to focus on health issues for veterans as on Oct. 7, John Lehnert, former Veterans’ Employment staffer for the Sussex One Stops, and Bill Weightman, Administrator for the One Stops in Sussex and Warren County, worked with the Veterans’ Administration to host a medical benefits discussion. They also offered flu shots and discussed other health issue during the program at the Sussex One Stop. Some 30 veterans from World War II down to current battlefield assignments turned out for the event. Veterans were given updates on their benefits as well as a brief health screening. The One Stop in Franklin, named after former State Sen. Robert E. Littell, a marine, is also a recruitment site for the National Guard and has ranked number one in state recruitments for the last two years.
