Pass It Along holds 10th Anniversary and Volunteer Celebration

SPARTA Pass It Along recently celebrated 10 years of serving the company at a Volunteer Celebration held at Lake Mohawk Country Club in Sparta.
The celebration was emceed by entertainer/author, Tommy Hilcken and featured heartfelt youth and adult volunteer testimonials, a slide show and acknowledgment of their receipt of The 2012 Governors Jefferson Award for Outstanding Youth Volunteer Group in the state of NJ.
This award is considered to be the equivalent of the noble prize for volunteerism and Pass It Along was one of 20 honorees selected out of the 1100 nominations submitted.
Musical entertainment was provided by teen deejay, Andrew Altieri of Andrew Entertainment, live guitar duet and singing by Eugene Steficek and Andrew Gallagher of the Sam Hill Road band, and original rap song thanking sponsors, supporters and contributors was performed by AmeriCorps members Patricia Chesnulovitch and Raffaela Bonventre.
The evening concluded with a flash mob dance led by the Pass It Along staff.
In her speech, Diane Taylor, President and CEO of Pass It Along, reminisced of her days volunteering at a local church and the teenagers who inspired her to form Pass It Along.
Taylor thanked the sponsors, volunteers, advisory board members and staff for their support in strengthening Pass It Alongs mission of nurturing area youth through community service and self-discovery programs.
Teen volunteer Jack Cubberly was awarded the Jeff Syberg award for $500.
Maria Miley, Director of Marketing, also announced the launch a new Web site featuring online registration for volunteer opportunities as well as the capability of volunteers being able to manage their opportunities and review and keep track of their own personal volunteer hours.
