Sparta area students named to Syracuse Dean's list

    Daniel Ciolino, a junior enrolled in the School of Architecture at Syracuse University, was named to the dean's list for the Spring 2005 semester. To qualify for the list, students must achieve, on a 4.0 scale, at least a 3.2 grade point average in 15 credit hours, or a 3.5 grade point average in 12 to 14 credit hours, taken on campus or at the campus in Florence, Italy. Megan MacFarlane of Sparta, is one of 17 students recently inducted into the Susquehanna University chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a co-educational service fraternity. The purpose of the fraternity is to assemble college students in the fellowship and principles of leadership, friendship and service to humanity. Members complete a minimum of 40 hours of service per year. MacFarlane will begin her junior year at Susquehanna this fall, where she is studying elementary education. She is a 2003 graduate of Sparta High School and is the daughter of Ken and Linda MacFarlane.
