student earns award

    Franklin-Jean Marie P. Carroll, the daughter of Maria Carroll, a cashier at the ShopRite of Franklin, has been awarded the $2,000 Distinguished Achievement Award. Last year, she earned a $1,000 Ronetco scholarship. Carroll is attending Northeastern University in Boston, where she is majoring in Medical Laboratory Science. She is a recipient of Northeastern's Medical Laboratory Science Faculty Scholarship Award, is in the Honors Program and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. She is a 2003 graduate of High Point Regional High School. This year, Ronetco awarded its associates or their children nine scholarships totaling $12,500 and awarded $72,000 in college tuition reimbursement last year. All Ronetco associates are eligible for tuition reimbursement. The scholarship program, started in 1996, is open to more than 1,200 eligible Ronetco associates or their children and is managed by an independent scholarship company.
