    West Milford resident Nathaniel Yuhas was named to the Worcester Polytechnic Institute’s spring 2011 dean’s list. Yuhas is a freshmanmajoring in mechanical engineering at the Worcester, Mass., school. A total of 974 undergraduate students achieved the criteria required for WPI’s spring 2011 dean’s list, which is different from most other universites. Worcester Polytechnic does not compute a grade point average. Instead, WPI defines the dean’s list by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects. Brittany A. Dalcais of Hewitt will attend the State University of New York at Oswego and has received a merit scholarship. The State University of New York at Oswego has awarded merit scholarships to more than 600 incoming students. Dalcais received a $31,560 residential scholarship. The award recognizes past academic achievement and potential for success for students attending Oswego from outside New York state. She has reserved a place in the incoming freshman class for the fall semester. Classes will begin Aug. 29. Brittany Veninger, an equestrian studies/equine business management major, has enrolled as a freshman at The University of Findlay for the 2011-12 academic year. Veninger, a 2011 graduate of West Milford High School, is the daughter of Edna Veninger of Franklin and John Veninger of Hewitt. Veninger was active in pony club and was awarded the Dean’s Scholarship from the university, which is located in Findlay, Ohio. The following local residents were among 2,100 students who participated in the 2011 Commencement Ceremony at The College of New Jersey in Lions’ Stadium: Ashley Platt of Hewitt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. Thomas Waszkiewicz of Hewitt earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance. Michael White of Hewitt earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. Sara Casciano of Hewitt earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Lena Feldman of Hewitt earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Secondary Education. Katherine Hannan of West Milford earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education Cum Laude. Kaitlyn Kayser of West Milford earned a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. Max Desmond of West Milford will be attending Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall 2011. He will major in biomedical engineering in RIT’s Kate Gleason College of Engineering. Max, a 2011 graduate of West Milford High School, is the son of Tuyana Shafton and Kenneth Shafton, both of West Milford. Kaitlin Cibenko and Alexis Cibenko of West Milford were named to the dean’s list for the Spring 2011 semester at Richard Stockton College of New Jersey.
