Sparta — Four piano students from the Biryukov Academy of Art and Music have been successful at national piano auditions held recently. Elizabeth Enriquez, Matthew Enriquez, Jonathan Enriquez and Olivia Cella of Sparta, pupils from the piano class of Joanna Russo, have passed with superior grades piano exams sponsored by the National Guild of Piano Teachers of the American College of Musicians, of which Russo is a member. This group of young pianists performed in the National Piano-Playing Auditions held at the Ridgewood Center. Each student performed in the presence of a professional adjudicator chosen by the national organization which examined the repertoire. Each entrant received a certificate, a gold pin, a report card and a year’s membership in the National Fraternity of Student Musicians.
