2019 Election Results

In Sussex County, voters decided on ballot questions, State Assembly, Freeholders, municipal, and school board elections on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019.
Andover Borough
Mayor John Morgan, was re-elected, after running unopposed and receiving 104 votes. Democratic incumbent Peter Pearson and Republican newcomer Kim Walter were voted for three-year council seats. The third candidate lost by just one vote. Results were; Walter, 79, Pearson 70, Figueiredo, 69.
Byram Council
Gallagher, Franko and Bonker won. The four candidates vied for threat seats on the Township Council in Byram on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2019. Results were; John Gallagher, 1,441, Franco, 1232, and Bonker received 1,107 votes. The fourth candidate, Carlos Luaces, came in at 627.
Hopatcong
Newcomer Nicole Falconi-Shubert and incumbents Alexander McLean and Warren Gallaghter won three-year seats on the Hoptacong Board of Education. Falconi-Shubert will replace Anthony Fasano, as he steps into the role of Sussex County Freeholder.
Sussex County Sheriff
Michael F. Strada received 25,795 votes, with write-ins receiving 1,598.
Fredon Township
In Fredon Township, Carl Lazzaro, Republican, won with 564 votes, Nancy Lynch, Democrat, received 371.
NJ Assembly
Parker Space and Harold Wirths have won re-election to their NJ assembly seats.
Sparta Board of Education
Kim Bragg, Kurt Morris, and Niamh A. Grano won Board of Education seats. Bragg received 3052 votes, Kurt Morris, 2758, and Grano, 2698.
Stanhope Borough Board of Education
Cynthia Percarpio received 537 votes, Jonathan Clausen received 534.
Ballot Questions.
Ballot questions were approved; giving veterans the ability to have property tax relief after moving into a facility; and voters approved Sussex County Freeholders compliance with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
