A season of change for community library

Sparta — For the first time since adding Sunday to its schedule in 1993, the Sparta Public Library is changing its hours of operation. After doing a time-usage study during the year and conducting a patron survey over the past two months, the library determined that it could serve its patrons more effectively and make better use of its time and by making this adjustment to the schedule. The new schedule will take effect Jan. 1, as follows: Monday to Thursday - 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday - 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday - 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. (closing at 1 p.m., July through Labor Day) Sunday - 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (closed July through Labor Day) Although it may take a bit of adjustment on the part of both patrons and staff, the schedule adjustments will be a beneficial change to the already superior service.
