A week-long summer adventure for Troop 82

SPARTA — Boy Scout Troop 82 recently returned from their annual week-long adventure at Camp Yawgoog in Rhode Island, ready to start the school year. The boys enjoyed hiking, sailing, canoeing, shot gun shooting, climbing and much more. Troop 82 meets on Mondays at 7:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church on Main Street. For those who are interested in scouting; Boys who are at least 10 years old or have completed the fifth grade and are at least 10, or who have not been in Cub Scouts and are 11 years old may join. Being a Cub Scout is not a requirement to join Boy Scouts, and boys and teenagers can join at any time. Troop 82 is the oldest continuously running Boy Scout troop in Sussex County and has a long history of service to the surrounding community. Warren Potter, is the Scoutmaster of the troop.
