Accolades for her service to others

Joan Shaw was named Sparta’s 2011 Outstanding Older American. She is pictured with Sparta Councilwoman Molly Whilesmith, who presented the award. Shaw received this award for her volunteer efforts in town and beyond. Her motto: “I will help out wherever you need me!”
