Area police looking for attack suspect

    SUSSEX COUNTY-Newton Police and other local law enforcement agencies are continuing their investigation of a serious assault that occurred on Lincoln Place in Newton on Saturday, April 30. At 9:42 p.m., a 57-year-old female resident of Lincoln Place was entering her vehicle when she was attacked by an unknown male. The suspect stabbed the victim repeatedly about the head and face with a knife, seriously injuring her, then fled on foot. The victim remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 13-20 years of age, slender build, medium height, bluish-colored eyes, light-colored hair worn short, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with lettering on the front. The Sussex County Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone with information concerning the incident.
