Author Nancy Rue visits Northwest Christian School
Newton - Children’s author Nancy Rue, who has written over 100 books geared toward “tween girls” recently visited Northwest Christian School to give a presentation called, “Rumor Tumors: How to Stop Them From Growing.” The presentation, geared toward girls in grades three to six, focused on the struggles they have with friendships, gossip, authenticity, and peer pressure. Fifth grader Kaitlyn Nyhan said her stories were very helpful and useful. “She taught us how to stop rumors from happening and to prevent someone from getting hurt by them,” she said. “ I loved listening to her because she made lots of sense and was a very fun woman.” Rue has sold more than one million copies of her books, many of them geared toward pre-adolescent and adolescent girls. When she is not writing, she is leading the “Faithgirlz: Beauty of Believing Tour” for “tween” girls and their moms.
