Boost SAT scores with SCCC class

SUSSEX COUNTY - The new SAT is unlike any other exam a student takes in school. The test is almost four hours long, there are over 170 questions, an essay to write, and penalties for wrong answers. Many students, even honor students, do not score to their potential. Sussex County Community College is offering classes designed to help give students a competitive edge when taking this important test. This course is also suitable for those taking the PSAT and it reviews all of the material covered on the exam as well as giving test-proven strategies that can substantially increase scores. This six-session course also teaches how to write winning personal statements for college applications and how to deal with test anxiety. The SAT is a major factor in college admissions and in the granting of scholarships. Students interested in giving themselves a head start can use this course to help them achieve their maximum potential. The class is offered in six sessions for a total of 12 hours. It will begin Monday, Oct. 16, and continue on Monday nights from 6-8 p.m., ending Nov. 20. The class will meet in room R-105, and the cost is $300.
