Sparta - The Irene and Eric Simon Brain Research Foundation is seeking donations of used inkjet or laser printer cartridges (from home or office), and old cell phones to help raise money to support the work of the foundation. The goal of the foundation is to help advance research and education in the area of brain research, with a focus on addiction and pain, as well as other diseases and conditions of the brain, such as Alzheimer’s disease, schizophrenia, and aging. Funds will be used to support foundation programs such as the IES Brain Research Summer Student Fellowship Program and the foundation’s speaker’s bureau. The programs are designed to encourage outstanding young scientists to enter this important field of research, as well as focus public attention on the importance of such research and inform the public of exciting advances in the field. Used cartridges or old cell phones may be dropped off at Photographs Cameras & Video, in the Theatre Centre in Sparta.
