Buffalo pottery showcased at Hamburg Antique Center

    Hamburg - Deldare ware, a ceramic line of pottery manufactured in Buffalo, N.Y., at the beginning of the 20th century, will be on on display throughout March at the Hamburg Antique Center, located at One Main St. in Hamburg, at the intersection of Routes 94 and 23. The “Buffalo Pottery” exhibit contains the series “Ye Olden Times,” “Emerald,” and “Fallowfield Hunt” scenes on Deldare. A new exhibit of vintage jewelry, “Accessories and Adornments,” from the collection of Joyce Simmons, will also be on display and feature shoe and belt buckles, hair combs, fur and dress clips, watches and rings. Styles of the early 1900s will be featured among the many costume jewelry pieces in the showcase. The Hamburg Antique Center has been open since May 2004. Floor space and showcases for dealers are still available in the historic 1858 building. The center also welcomes antique consignments. Store hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Thursday and Saturday; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.Sunday; and late, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. The center is closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
