Downtown Newton is blooming once again as the annually installed flower baskets decorate its lampposts.

The baskets are provided by the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce and its members. Each year they are the first seasonal decorations hung by the town on Spring Street, followed by American flags in the early summer and festive wreaths for the winter holidays.

The baskets are planted by Ideal Farm & Garden Center in Lafayette and installed and maintained by the Newton Department of Public Works.

The Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce appreciate the generous donations from Thorlabs and The Center for Prevention and Counseling to this year’s decorating fund.

“We are so grateful for our donors’ support of our year-round decorating efforts,” said Michele Egan, executive director of the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce. “Decorating is important to our goal of encouraging visitors and customers to spend their time in Newton. It makes this town an even more welcoming place to work and live.”
