Chabad hosts Chanukah happenings

Sparta - Chanukah begins on Sunday night, Dec. 25, and Chabad of Sussex County has planned an array of programs to to mark the holiday this year. A public menorah lighting, will be held outside the Sparta Lanes at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 25. Local dignitaries will attend the event and partake in the lighting of the menorah. A special presentation will be made by the children of the Chabad Hebrew School. Chanukah Super Bowl’ The menorah lighting will be followed by two hours of unlimited bowling, complete with Chanukah music (“The Chanukah Yingles”), and refreshments (latkes, donuts, etc). Cost is $12; advance registration is requested. Two cars displaying menorahs on their roofs will drive through the streets of Sussex County during the eight days of Chanukah. All are invited to take a look how many lights are burning (in addition to the middle one), and to honk or wave in celebration. Chabad will arrange home and office visits for anyone who would appreciate it, complete with latkes, gelt, menorahs, and smiling faces.
