Church offers Blue Christmas' service

Sparta - Sparta United Methodist Church will hold a “Blue Christmas” worship service for those for whom the holiday season brings not joy and good cheer but feelings of sadness and loss. The service will be held at 7:30 p.m on Dec. 21 for those for whom a traditionally joyful celebration of Christmas seems inappropriate. The service acknowledges those feelings and invites those who are sad, lonely, or mourning to experience the wonder and hope of Christmas in the midst of their struggle.
