Circle of Yarns donation to go on the block

SPARTA-On Dec. 2, the Sparta Woman's Club Circle of Yarns, presented an afghan to Janell Carr of Pass It Along. The item will be included in Pass It Along's annual auction. This is the second year that the Circle of Yarns has contributed an afghan for this fund-raiser. This year's afghan was hand- knitted by Diane Wengert. This donation was one of more than 500 items given to various local organizations by the club throughout 2004. The Circle of Yarns meets weekly in the home of Louise Zawislak. Items knitted by the members are donated to groups throughout the community: blankets for newborns, hats for chemotherapy patients, scarves and hats, lap robes and afghans for various service organizations.
