VERNON-The Vernon office of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey and Rockland County, New York, is collecting letters and cards for a Halloween-themed mailing to members of the United States Armed Forces serving overseas in Iraq. This latest "Letters for Soldiers" campaign is part of an ongoing effort that began with the "Valentines for Soldiers," initiated by members of the Vernon office earlier this year. "The holiday themes ...are especially fun for children and it really motivates them to participate," notes Theresa "Terri" Stellingwerf, manager of the Vernon office of Coldwell Banker. "Holidays provide a basis for kids to share stories, ask questions and, in many cases, create their own greeting cards. Thanks to everyone's efforts, our service men and women are able to receive batches of correspondence from home just in time for a major holiday." Letters and cards for the Halloween mailing should be addressed "Dear Soldier" and dropped off at the Vernon office of Coldwell Banker, 546 Route 515 (next to Bank of New York) by October 12 to ensure timely delivery.. No postage will be necessary, as all pieces will be shipped as one package. For more information, call 973-764-4085.
