NEWTON — Coldwell Banker has given the green light for its sales force to participate in a new program recently launched by the Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross, in which Red Cross health and safety products and services are introduced to home buyers through realtors. “The Red Cross gave us a presentation on its new program and many of our consultants are excited to participate, feeling it gives them an attractive new option in working with clients,” said Joan Donohue, manager of the Coldwell Banker offic in Spart. “The program benefits our clients and that’s good for Coldwell Banker. And, if we can help the Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross in the process, we are delighted to do so. We encourage our consultants to work with the Red Cross and they are doing so based on the program we have.” This program is open to all realtors and real estate companies in Sussex County. Interested realtors are invited to contact the Sussex County Chapter to participate or to schedule a presentation. The new program will allow the American Red Cross and its products and programs to be introduced directly to new county home buyers by realtors for the first time. Under the program, home buyers receive products and services that will protect them and their families, the Red Cross benefits from the relationships gained with families who are buying in Sussex County, and realtors add value to their client relationships and help the Sussex County Chapter, with a program they can promote to their target market, prospective buyers and sellers of homes.ccording to Ron Marin, director of Programs and Services for the local Red Cross, “Here at the Sussex County Chapter, we reasoned that many realtors might appreciate giving families something meaningful when they buy a home, such as a Red Cross Family First Aid kit, an Emergency Preparedness Kit, or other potentially life-saving gift, which can be kept handy and used in a emergency or whenever needed. “At the same time,” he continues, “this program will give us the opportunity to jump start and build a relationship with families through Red Cross training, including everything from First Aid and CPR, to swimming instruction, life guard training, baby-sitter training, pet care, and more. These are courses and training which young families will grow up with, will use throughout their lives, and the knowledge and skills they gain from Red Cross classes could save a live someday.” For more information, contact Marin at the Sussex County Chapter of the American Red Cross, 93 Spring St., Newton; call 973-579-1600, x13; e-mail rmarin@sussexredcross.org; or log on to www.sussexredcross.org.
