County freeholders enter agreement with Civil Solutions, Inc.
NEWTON - Under the N.J. State contract, the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders has entered into an agreement with Civil Solutions, Inc., for the development of a geographic information system-based electronic property parcels for 13 municipalities within Sussex County. Along with the property parcels developed by the New Jersey Highlands Council and individual municipal efforts, the county will have a complete inventory of all properties. This data will provide the foundation for the county’s enterprise geographic information system, which allows county and local governments to perform functions in a more efficient and less time-consuming manner. The parcel data can be utilized by various county divisions, such as: the Division of Planning for open space planning and acquisition; the Division of Health for hazardous materials and emergency response; site selection for the County’s Vision 2020 - Economic Development Partnership; the county prosecutor’s office for critical infrastructure as well as Megan’s Law notifications; and use by various other county agencies to support a county wide records management program. The geographic information system department will be responsible for managing the data and providing technical expertise and assistance to county and local governments.
